DGSA's first U10/U12 Tournament held June 4-6 was a great success!!
To all of the participating teams, coaches, parents and board members: We thank you for supporting the tournament, the DGSA program and most importantly, our dedicated athletes.
Congratulation to the U10 tournament champions, Appleton Sizzle and the U12 champions, East De Pere Fire!!
WOW! What an awesome weekend of tournament softball we had at Optimist Park this past weekend. We hope you had a chance to come and share in some of the excitement and fun!
Of course, none of this could have happened without your support and your willingness to lend a hand where we needed it. Thank you to all of you who pitched in! It was wonderful to see that this was truly a community effort…. from the City of De Pere grooming the grounds and keeping it clean; to the Kelly Danen/DADS organization lending us their field groomer; to Keith Noskowiak of the Sports Corner/Nicolet Restaurant donating the food for and making omelets for the workers, players and spectators on Saturday and Sunday morning; to Valley Cabinet donating and making the cabinetry and countertops in the concession stand so that it could be run so efficiently; to the Pepsi Cola Company lending us the refrigerated cooler to keep our beverages cold throughout the weekend; Larry’s Piggly Wiggly for supplying all of the wonderful bread and bakery products; to Jeannine Walker of Visioncast Designs preparing and keeping our website updated throughout the weekend; to Allegiance Printing preparing, donating and providing the tournament program; to the grandpas, grandmas, parents, siblings and friends who maintained and prepared the fields, kept the scorebooks and the scoreboards, worked in the concession stand, served as umpires and came to cheer and support the teams; and to the coaches and players who played hard, represented good sportsmanship to the other teams, and gave us great games to enjoy.
THANK YOU to each and everyone of you! We received many, many positive comments from other coaches and teams about the tournament. Thank you for representing De Pere and the De Pere Girl’s Softball Association so well. We absolutely could not have succeeded without your help and your commitment to the girls, our community, the DGSA and this tournament. So thank you to all of you!
