Note: If your daughter is only planning on playing in the 2024 Rec League, but NOT on the 2024 Tournament Team, you do not need to register yet. 2024 Rec League Registration will open up in January.
The tournament team is a more competitive experience than Rec League. These teams travel to nearby cities (usually within 60 miles) along with one possible further away/overnight tournament (approx. 125 miles) to play against other tournament teams. Tournament teams exist for 8U, 10U, 12U, and 14U (not 6U). Tournaments are usually over the weekend. Most teams participate in 4-6 tournaments (weekends) from May through August. If you have any additional questions about tournament team play, please email registar@dpgsa.com.
The intent for the assessment is to evaluate each 12U eligible player during the prime time of their softball season. The skills they have gained during the year would provide us with their best performance. The assessments will help aide in the team formation process so that we can best place each player on a team that matches their skill level. Prior year coaches' feedback along with the survey results from the families also are considered. Forming teams is not an easy task and a lot of factors weigh into the final team announcement. Some of the primary factors include: total # of girls for both east and west, appropriate pitching and catching skills for each team, team size, and experienced coach volunteers. The registration window will confirm your daughter’s commitment to join a DGSA team for the 2024 season. Any volunteers to head coach or be an assistant coach should register during this window as well. Lack of volunteers ultimately leads to larger team size and less playing time for your daughter. Please note all registered players will be assigned a team.
An adult family member of a tournament team player is required to volunteer for the opposite weekend you play for our home Fire on the Fox tournament in June 2024. One shift for concessions AND one shift for grounds crew are the minimum to avoid additional fees.
Note: There is an option to pay the registration fees via a payment plan with a down payment upfront and 3 remaining payments in January through March.
No Full Refunds after registration closes. A pro-rated, board approved, refund may be available from the close of registration to the start of the season. Absolutely no refunds after the first tournament.
